Lebron James’ Pleasant Summer

This time last summer, forward LeBron James had just signed with the Miami Heat along with Chris Bosh, establishing what was one of the most dominant off seasons for an NBA franchise. The Miami Heat, with Wade, James, and Bosh, were expected to win the NBA title…. and 7 more according to those same players. Well, we all know that didn’t happened and Lebron’s lackluster performance in most of the fourth quarters are etched to the brain’s of fans across the world. LeBron may be the greatest ever, but he has not gotten over that hump of winning a championship. After a devastating loss in the NBA finals, LeBron made even more enemies with his reactions to reporters and fans. LeBron needed a break from the spot light, and that is what this NBA lockout has done for him.

The NBA lockout has made for quite a boring summer when it comes to basketball. All fans were pleased with last summer’s flurry of off season trades and player acquisitions, and this summer could not have been more different. The player’s union and NBA owners simply are not on the same page. Derek Fisher, the president of the NBA Player’s Association, is one of few stars that have been in the public eye defending the player’s stance in this dilemma. Other big name stars like LeBron have stayed out of the argument and have pretty much let others make the controversial statements. LeBron really needed an image makeover after all the poor decisions he has made in dealing with his non-basketball affairs, and I can honestly say he has started to do the right things thus far.

LeBron has already had a successful career. This man has unbelievable skills and pushes himself and his teammates to a whole new level of competition. LeBron was thrown into the world of professional sports right out of high school, and ever since he was a kid, the spotlight has been on him and he never really had the chance to mature. Now, 7 NBA seasons, 2 kids, no wife, and no NBA championships later, LeBron has finally taken it upon himself to take time off. He does not need to be the person everyone is talking about and he surely does not need to be in the media during this lockout.
