NFL Bad Schotz Players-Week 10

Mike Vick- I’m considering renaming this to Mike Vick’s players of the week because he is on here every week. In past weeks, the Eagles’ losses were not completely Vick’s fault. However, its tough to defend him after watching his week 10 matchup with the lowly Cardinals. Vick was 16-34 passing with only 128 passing yards with no TD’s, 1 INT, and 1 fumble. Vick completely took the team down with him in a game without star receiver Desean Jackson. The Eagles are now an astonishing 1-4 at home and 3-6 overall. A movement to fire Andy Reid has begun in Philly, but with Vick doing all of the sucking and GM Howie Roseman responsible for putting together this “dream team.” I believe Andy Reid should not be at fault here.

Curtis Painter- The Colts are now 0-10 and they aren’t getting any better. Curtis Painter threw for a whopping 94 yards and 2 INT’s in a 3 point effort at home against the Jags. Painter is ugly (according to writer Andrew Steres) and is now going to lose his job to former Lions QB Dan Orlovsky. Orlovsky in his first career start in 2008 for the Lions looked like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EZrpEdc0ZQ

Ryan Fitzpatrick- After a sensational start to the season which included wins over the Patriots and a nice contract, Fitzpatrick looked like the Fitzpatrick of old against the Dallas Cowboys. Fitzpatrick was 20/31 for 146 yards 1TD and 3 INT’s in a 44-7 dismantling of the Bills. It is now time for all of the Bills’ bandwagon fans to go back into hibernation up in Buffalo.

Matt Cassel and the Chiefs- What’s worse? The leading passer of an NFL game having just 93 passing yards, or, losing to a QB who only had 2 completions. Matt Cassel was just 13/28 passing for 93 yards against a below-average Bronco secondary, but the Chiefs have to feel ashamed of themselves for losing to a team who played like the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets and ran the ball 55 times with just 8 passing attempts. This game was just flat out ugly and if it wasn’t for the Bronco’s getting a win, they’d be on here too.

Coach Mike Smith- Going for it on 4th and inches in overtime is typically a smart call. But going for it on 4th and inches in overtime on your own 29 at home is just idiotic. Running back Michael Turner got stuffed before the line and the Saints took over and knocked in the game winning field goal. The Falcons had a chance to share 1st place with the Saints in the NFC South, but now sit at 5-4 and find themselves battling for a wildcard spot.
